The Greatest Threat to the World’s Jews

I present the most anti-semitic elected official in America, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN):

Now, Greenwald was entirely right in what he said: it is quite stunning to see how ferocious elected American officials are in policing criticism of a foreign nation.

Most Republican politicians have a zero tolerance policy for criticism of Israel, but will sit passively as people bad-mouth America up and down.

It’s all based in this ridiculous assumption that any criticism of Israel–any at all–is tantamount to calling for the eradication of the Jews.

Anyway, Omar clarified just what she meant:

AIPAC is paying American politicians to be pro-Israel, says Ilhan Omar.

I will say it loud and clear for the umpteenth time:

The greatest threat to the world’s Jews–in America, in Europe and in the Middle East–is Islam.

It is not a few dozen alt-righters with tiki torches in a city park.

It’s not David Duke, a largely irrelevant former Klansman from Louisiana who hasn’t held political office since 1992. Duke is only as well-known as he is because the Democratic Propaganda Media gives him attention in order to smear Republicans through guilt by party affiliation and to promote the narrative that literal Nazism is running rampant in America.

It is most certainly not President Donald Trump, who is routinely smeared as the New Hitler, despite being the most proudly and unequivocally pro-Israel President in recent memory.

It is Islam.

This presents a dilemma for the Democrats, who maintain that Islam Is A Religion of Peace and that the Republicans could at any moment start up a Second Holocaust.

You’re not allowed to criticize Muslims, and you’re not allowed to criticize Jews.

But what happens when a Muslim criticizes Jews?

Who wins out on the hierarchy of Groups Beyond Reproach?

Jews, it turns out:

“In an unprecedented rebuke under the new Congress, House Democratic leaders on Monday roundly condemned Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., for statements about supporters of Israel that were widely viewed as anti-Semitic and called on her to apologize.

The statement issued by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democratic leadership team followed the latest in a string of controversial comments from the freshman lawmaker — as well as pressure from Republican leaders to speak out.

“Anti-Semitism must be called out, confronted and condemned whenever it is encountered, without exception,” the statement said. “We are and will always be strong supporters of Israel in Congress because we understand that our support is based on shared values and strategic interests. Legitimate criticism of Israel’s policies is protected by the values of free speech and democratic debate that the United States and Israel share. But Congresswoman Omar’s use of anti-Semitic tropes and prejudicial accusations about Israel’s supporters is deeply offensive.”

So apparently there are limits to what the Democratic cultural and political establishment allows minorities in this country to get away with.

Ironically, the immediate and widespread condemnation from across the political spectrum more or less proved Omar’s point about Israel having many American politicians in its pocket.

Now, I’m of the belief that Israel does have too much influence over American foreign policy, but I also believe Israel is America’s clear-cut #1 ally in the Middle East.

Growing up I was always taught that the Jews are God’s chosen people and that the Jews have been persecuted for thousands of years.

No matter how many times the Jews have been expelled and slaughtered, they always manage to survive. This is not by accident.

But that said, we could benefit from a little healthy distance between our two nations. Standing with Israel does not have to entail being Israel’s pocket and getting into wars on Israel’s behalf.

Israel is armed to the teeth with nukes and advanced weaponry. They can handle themselves just fine. We don’t need to have American troops deployed all over the Middle East in order for Israel to remain safe.

We should work with and support Israel when it is mutually advantageous to do so. But right now it seems like our policy is to do Israel’s bidding even when there are no clear US interests at stake.

It is not “antisemitic” to say this.

We have our own national interests, Israel has its own. Just like any other nation. This doesn’t mean we should abandon Israel to the wolves, but only that we should look out for ourselves first and foremost.

Israeli Jews keenly understand that their greatest threat comes from Islam. They understand this far more than their Western Jewish counterparts, who still largely fear and resent white Christians and believe they’re raring to start another Holocaust.

Hopefully this Ilhan Omar episode opens more Jews’ eyes here in America to the truth: the more Muslims that come to America, the less safe it is for Jews.

In this sense, I think American foreign policy towards Israel is basically on the money in that it seeks to unite against a common enemy, Islam.

But at the same time, Israel does exert too much influence on our politicians. You can say this without being anti-Israel.

So I guess my main critique of Omar is not that she pointed out that AIPAC has too much influence on American politicians–on that, she’s absolutely correct.

My critique of Omar is more that I don’t trust her ultimate motives given that Muslims have a deep, arguably primordial, hatred of the Jews.

I don’t believe Omar wants to reorient American foreign policy to be more in our national interests, but rather to be anti-Israel and pro-Muslim.

  1. Spot on. Evil is evil, no matter where it originates. Israel has had forever to do the right thing and yet, it gets worse and worse. Everyone else is subject to the same rules (almost everyone), the same criticism and the same consequences for bad behaviour, except Israel, and whoever calls them out is an antisemite! Isrealis aren’t special, they’re as wicked, or good, as anyone else. Crippling sanctions is the only thing that will stop them. BDS now.

    • but to clarify further; I think your’re a radical and full of sh**t concerning almost everything else (haha) but we do agree on the idea of power and empire: Israel is a strong ally, important to American power, and that’s okay (my last post) but it doesn’t give them the right to demonize everyone who calls them out. They can be strong and powerful and still do what is right, after all, they’re a superpower. All they need now is to put away the antisemitism nonsense. It’s tiring. With that said…I hate you. Cheers.
